Racing Sparrow RS1000-3D Materials & Parts
These are the complete and detailed lists of materials and electronics you need to complete the build of the Racing Sparrow 1000 3D.
The servos are both standard size servos which means you can choose options that suit your budget.
Note: all links are for USA suppliers. You will need to find materials near you. The names of some materials like split pins in New Zealand are called cotter pins in USA.
Filament & Adhesives
- 2 Roll of filament either PLA+, ASA, ABS, PETG
- CA Glue (Super Glue)
- Resin 250ml – Polyester or (Epoxy mixed with methylated spirits to thin)
- Epoxy - Two part syringe
Electronics
- Sail Servo Standard Hi Torque 13+kg
- Rudder Servo – Futaba S-U300 Universal Standard Servo
- Battery Pack - 5AA NiMH inline. (6V)
- Power Switch – On/Off Harness with JR Plug
- Receiver – Radiomaster R86 (designer’s favourite)
- Transmitter – Radiomaster Pocket (designer’s favourite)
Mechanical & Linkage
- Sheet Tube 5mm Length – Copper Tube K&S 5/32" OD (~4mm)
- Tiller Arm Bolt – M2mm x 12mm Bolt & Nut
- 3 small 3mm screws - For the servo tray
- Pushrod – Du-Bro #108 Steel Kwik-Link with 12" Rod, 2-56 Thread & Tiller Connector
Keel & Structure
- Ballast – Lead Shot, 2000g, 1 pound = 453.592 g.
- Keel Joiner, Topper – Carbon Rod 3mm, 500mm
- Carbon Fibre Square Rod Keel Bar (5x5mm x 1m) x 3.
- 5 lengths @ 400mm are required.
Rigging & Sail Material
- Carbon 10mm Mast x 1250mm. (2 x 1m) lengths using the printed joiner parts
