Who is Racing Sparrow?

New Zealander Bryn Heveldt is the creator of RacingSparrow Model Yachts. Bryn grew up around boats in Auckland and went on to sail competitively in dinghies like the P class, Sunburst, 470 and Javelin. Bryn is a professional designer and technologist and he can often be found sketching ideas in his notebook or building boats in his workshop.

Our Ethos and Values

We design RC sailboats for beginners, making entry into the hobby simple and affordable. Our boats use everyday, low-cost materials and standard parts—avoiding hard-to-find specialist components through clever design. While racing is fun, our focus is on getting people started and enjoying the wonderful hobby that is RC building and sailing.
